Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare returns, advise clients, and uncover savings opportunities in a local Tax Office in Memphis. You will conduct in-depth client interviews, explain tax concepts in client-friendly language, and deliver empathetic, consultative service while building lasting relationships.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of tax experience, strong communication, and the ability to work within IRS/state requirements.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with complex situations.
• Conduct client interviews to understand finances and tax implications.
• Offer tax savings opportunities and recommend H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, notices, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team and maintain a client-focused office environment.
