Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred
• 5+ years of tax preparation/accounting experience preferred
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) or IRS Circular 230 credential preferred
• Experience with complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notices

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and build trusted client relationships
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a client-focused office environment
