Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations. You will prepare accurate returns, interview clients to uncover details, and provide personalized recommendations, backed by extensive training and technology.

In this role, you will build lasting client relationships, identify tax savings opportunities, and support clients with IRS notices and audits while working in a collaborative office environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of continuing education and IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications and provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
