Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced tax professional for seasonal, in-person employment at a local tax office in Oregon. You will prepare complex returns, interview clients, and identify tax savings opportunities while delivering empathetic, consultative service.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• At least 1 year of tax preparation/related experience including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
