Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional for a seasonal, in-person role at a local tax office. You will prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses and conduct in-depth client interviews to tailor recommendations.

You will build lasting client relationships, offer tax-saving opportunities, and provide IRS support as needed, while collaborating with a team in a supportive office environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete ongoing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications; provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive client-focused office environment.
