Job summary

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Preparer to guide clients through tax forms, provide expert customer service, and ensure accurate, compliant filings across multistate and multi-year returns.

You will conduct tax interviews, assist with IRS audits, and contribute to client retention while working in a dynamic, client-focused environment and leveraging free tax training offered by the company.

Qualifications

• 2+ seasons of previous tax experience.
• Experience completing individual, trust, &/or partnership tax returns.
• Passion for providing extraordinary customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of the Jackson Hewitt Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Field Instructor, Remote Support, or Call Center certification a plus.
• Tax planning and audit support experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field a plus.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent license is a bonus.
• PTIN Certification: Yes.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance, explain, prepare, and complete accurate tax-related forms for clients (multiyear, multistate, year-end).
• Provide IRS audit support and e-file forms to IRS/state agencies.
• Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients.
• Generate business growth and increase client retention; offer additional products/services.
• Answer client calls via national call center routing system.
• Respond to tax-related questions and provide future planning.
• Manage collections and processing of client payments with timely deposits.
• Support marketing and business development efforts.
• Mentor teammates and act as lead when needed.
