Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. seeks an Experienced Tax Professional for a seasonal, in-person role at a local tax office in Jacksonville, FL. You will prepare complex individual and business returns, interview clients to understand life changes, and offer personalized tax-saving recommendations while providing audit support when needed.

You’ll work with a supportive team, leveraging leading training and technology, with an incentive plan based on impact and growth in tax expertise and client service.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment 1
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and implications
• Provide recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Offer IRS support, notices, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive client-focused office environment
