Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional for seasonal, in-person employment at a Florida tax office. The role involves preparing complete tax returns for clients with complex situations and conducting in-depth client interviews to tailor recommendations.

You will build lasting client relationships, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide IRS guidance as needed, supported by leading training and technology, an attractive hourly rate, and an incentive plan based on impact.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including explaining tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations, including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
