Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate at a local tax office. You’ll collect client information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from day one.

You’ll work in-person, gain tax knowledge, and build client relationships while earning an hourly rate that increases with knowledge and experience during peak season. No prior tax experience is required, and successful candidates will complete the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent training as part of

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems like AI-based tools (Copilot and ChatGPT).
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a simple way.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
