Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to assist clients with tax preparation at a local office. You’ll meet clients, gather information, and prepare returns with training from day one. This in-person role offers an hourly rate and opportunities to increase earnings as you grow tax knowledge and skills.

Ideal for those starting in tax and client services, with flexible hours of 15–35 per week and possible up to 40 during peak periods. No prior tax experience required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving abilities and organizing information.
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to address questions with guidance.
