Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns with guidance, and explain tax implications in clear terms while seeking opportunities to save customers money.

No prior tax experience is required; comprehensive training and support from day one help you develop client-service and tax knowledge. Competitive hourly pay during tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent tax training.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Ability to use digital tools and systems including AI-based tools.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
