Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare returns with training, and explain tax information clearly.

No prior tax experience is required, and you’ll earn compensation hourly with growth as you learn. You’ll work with experienced teammates and have opportunities to learn, build client relationships, and support office priorities during peak tax season.

Qualifications

• Complete HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience in customer or client service environment.
• Strong communication and the ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills to organize information and find solutions.
• Comfort with digital tools, including AI-based assistants.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and guidance.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can follow.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and suggest relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving to address questions or unique situations with available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
