Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services with on-the-job training. You’ll meet clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates.

This in-person role is based at a local H&R Block tax office and offers a competitive hourly rate. You’ll earn more as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role, with strong emphasis on client service, teamwork, and a client-first mindset in a collaborative office

Qualifications

• Required: Completion of H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication and ability to explain tax info clearly
• Problem-solving with ability to organize information and find solutions
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach
