Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate in Ohio. No prior tax experience is required; you’ll receive training and work directly with clients to gather information and prepare returns in person at a local tax office. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge.

You will build client relationships, explain tax information clearly, and identify tax savings opportunities while growing in the role.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service‑oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem‑solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client‑first approach.
