Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building valuable client relationships.

Training and support are provided from day one, with competitive hourly pay and opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge. This in-person role offers flexible hours during tax season, with evenings/weekends available and a focus on client-first service.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
