Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services without prior tax experience. You'll work in-person at a local tax office, gather client information, and prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates.

You'll meet with clients, explain tax information clearly, and identify potential savings opportunities while building relationships and earning an hourly wage during peak periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service environment.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based assistants (Copilot, ChatGPT).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
