Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in California, in-person at a local tax office.

You’ll start a career in tax and client services with training and support from day one, gathering information, preparing returns, and answering questions while building client relationships. Meet with clients to understand their tax situations, identify savings opportunities, and clearly explain tax information.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to address questions with guidance and resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
