Job summary

H&R Block in Dexter, ME is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate with no prior tax experience. You will work in-person at a local tax office, meeting clients to gather information and prepare returns with training and support from day one.

You’ll explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships while contributing to a collaborative team during peak season.

Qualifications

• Completed H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience interacting with customers in a service role
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex information clearly
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to organize information and identify solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based systems such as Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and answer questions
