Job summary

H&R Block in Biddeford, Maine is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns with training, and explain tax concepts clearly. You'll work in-person at a local office and earn an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge and experience.

No prior tax experience required; a tax course completion is preferred, with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work evenings or weekends during peak

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
