Job summary

H&R Block is seeking seasonal Tax Associates to work in-person at a local tax office in Kansas. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and begin preparing tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience required. You’ll earn an hourly rate, with opportunities to increase earnings as you build knowledge, and you’ll develop client-service and problem-solving skills in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course1
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
