Job summary

H&R Block in Kansas is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with guidance from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required—training starts on day one and you’ll build valuable client relationships while demonstrating strong service and problem-solving skills. This in-person role offers an hourly rate with chances to grow as you learn.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
