Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in Virginia for in-person client-facing tax preparation. You’ll gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training support from day one.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role. Evening and weekend availability during tax season may be required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent training.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
