Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns with training, and explain tax concepts clearly while identifying savings opportunities. Prior tax experience is not required.

Earn a competitive hourly rate and develop tax knowledge with hands-on support. Availability for peak periods and evenings/weekends is preferred in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a service-oriented environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Enrollment in or completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment is part of the process.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations so clients understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
