Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services—no prior tax experience required. You’ll work in-person at a local tax office, with training from day one to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building client relationships.

Meet with clients, prepare returns with support, explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and collaborate with teammates.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service experience.
• Problem-solving and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED at minimum.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred for some candidates.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
