Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office in New Hampshire. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with ongoing training and support. Strong communication and problem-solving skills help you explain tax matters clearly and identify savings opportunities.

No prior tax experience is required; successful completion of relevant tax courses is encouraged, and opportunities exist to increase earnings during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
