Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services with training and support from day one. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building skills and strong client relationships.

This in-person role at a local tax office offers an hourly pay and opportunities to increase earnings as you learn. Must be able to work evenings and weekends during tax season and commit to 15-35 hours per week,

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based systems like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
