Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns with training, explain tax concepts clearly, and identify savings opportunities while building client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll receive training and support from day one and have opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge. Availability includes evenings and weekends during tax season.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles within service environments.
• Clear communication and ability to explain tax information.
• Problem solving with the ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based platforms like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
