Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local H&R Block tax office. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates, and explain tax results clearly while identifying opportunities to save on taxes.

The role emphasizes building client relationships, delivering quality service, and leveraging AI-enabled tools. Availability includes evenings and weekends during peak tax season, with hours flexible between 15 and 40

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication skills including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
