H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services with training from day one. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions in person at a local tax office in Alabama.

No prior tax experience is required. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role, with evenings and weekends possible during peak season.

Qualifications

• Complete HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills with ability to explain information clearly and ask questions to understand needs.
• Solid problem-solving and information-organizing abilities.
• Comfort using AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products/services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
