Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns, and explain tax basics with support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; training is provided and performance-driven pay applies as knowledge grows. Availability for peak periods and weekend shifts is expected to meet client demand.

Qualifications

• Completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach.
