Job summary

H&R Block, a trusted leader in tax preparation, is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and explain tax concepts in an understandable way. Training is provided; prior tax experience is not required.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge and expertise during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or enrollment
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
