Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to grow a career in tax and client services. You’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building valuable client relationships.

This is an in-person role at a local H&R Block tax office with an hourly pay range and training from day one. Hours are flexible during peak periods, with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
