Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person role at a local Kentucky tax office. You’ll meet with clients, collect information, and prepare returns with guidance from experienced teammates.

You’ll explain tax details, identify savings opportunities, and help clients navigate their questions with a client-first approach. Training is provided from day one, and you can increase earnings as tax knowledge grows.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or enrollment is required.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
