Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to assist with client tax preparation at a local tax office. You will gather information, prepare returns, and respond to questions while learning tax basics and building client relationships.

Role is in-person with training and support from day one, and pay is hourly with potential increases as tax knowledge grows. Availability includes peak periods and evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills with ability to identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations understandable to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
