Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; you will learn quickly and earn a competitive hourly rate while building tax knowledge and client relationships. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly
• Problem-solving skills including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
