Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in Wisconsin. No prior tax experience required; you’ll receive training and work directly with clients to gather information and prepare returns in person at a local tax office.

You will explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships through teamwork and a client-first approach. Availability to work 15–35 hours per week, with peak periods up to 40 hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment.
• Strong communication; able to explain information clearly and ask questions.
• Problem-solving skills; organize information and identify solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
