Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to help clients gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions in person at a local tax office.

No prior tax experience required; training starts day one and opportunities to grow earnings as tax knowledge increases. You will meet with clients, prepare returns with guidance from experienced teammates, explain tax information clearly, and identify savings opportunities while maintaining a client-first approach.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience in customer service in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
