Job summary

H&R Block in the United States is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare complete tax returns with coaching from experienced teammates.

You'll explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and provide recommendations in a way clients can understand. This in-person role at a local tax office offers training and an opportunity to build client relationships while earning an hourly rate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
