Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions at a local tax office. Training and support are provided from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows.

This in-person role requires meeting clients, explaining tax information clearly, and identifying savings opportunities while maintaining a client-first approach. Availability for peak periods is expected.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course (education requirement).
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in an understandable way.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
