Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Advisor to work in-person at a local tax office in El Paso, TX. You will prepare complete tax returns, interview clients to assess financial situations, and offer personalized recommendations to maximize savings.

You’ll build trusted relationships through empathetic, consultative service, identify tax-saving opportunities, and support clients with IRS notices and audit guidance as needed. Training and a supportive team environment accompany this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, with individual and business returns.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts simply.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• In-person, client-facing advisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications; provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and upsell applicable H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team to maintain a client-focused office environment.
