Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare returns and advise clients in a local office in Paintsville, KY. You’ll interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and deliver services with our training and technology.

This in-person role offers an hourly rate, incentive plan, and the chance to grow in tax and financial services through ongoing training and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Complete the Tax Knowledge Assessment or enrollment
• Minimum 1 year of tax preparation experience, incl. individuals & business
• Client-facing, consultative/ advisory experience
• Strong verbal and written communication; explain tax concepts clearly
• Meet IRS/state continuing education requirements; high school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse situations
• Conduct client interviews to understand finances and tax implications
• Provide personalized tax-saving recommendations and cross-sell products
• Offer IRS notice support, audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive client-focused office environment
