Job summary

H&R Block in Kentucky is hiring a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare returns, interview clients, and provide guidance on tax savings. You’ll leverage training and technology, delivering accurate results and building lasting client relationships in a local office.

Responsibilities include conducting client interviews, identifying tax savings opportunities, and offering IRS support and audit guidance. Compliance with IRS/state requirements and continuing education are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related field.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must meet IRS and state continuing education requirements

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with complex situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications
• Provide personalized tax savings recommendations and promote H&R Block products
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team and maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
