Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Advisor to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. You will prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and identify tax savings opportunities in a supportive, tax-knowledge environment.

This in-person role offers industry-leading training, a competitive hourly rate, and an incentive plan as you build tax expertise and serve clients.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications
• Build trusted client relationships by providing empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
