Job summary

You will conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, provide personalized recommendations, and identify tax savings opportunities while building strong client relationships.

This in-person role at a local H&R Block tax office includes ongoing training and supportive mentorship to grow your tax expertise and serve clients with confidence.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships through empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities and HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
