Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service and team development on a part-time basis. You will work closely with the Store Manager to drive daily performance and guest satisfaction.

Duties include assisting with daily store activities, guiding associates, handling merchandise transfers from delivery to floor, and executing opening/closing procedures. The role supports payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards and protect assets including cash.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Train and develop Store Associates and ensure a positive, safe environment.
• Keep store clean and presentable, restocking bathrooms and floors as needed.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and follow store procedures.
