Job summary

The Cool Hardware Company in Takoma Park, MD is hiring for a Store Associate/Cashier. This temporary position requires weekend and holiday availability and offers the chance to grow with a friendly hardware team dedicated to excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time and be able to lift 40lbs frequently.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Retail experience preferred and previous home improvement knowledge helpful.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving, stocking, and pricing of all merchandise.
• Cashiering (handling money, giving accurate change).
• Maintain clean and orderly store appearance.
• Deliver customer service with enthusiasm and genuine interest in ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and politely with customers in store and over the phone.

Job description

This is a temporary position, and applicants must be 18 years of age or older. We are looking for someone who is available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with weekend and holiday availability being especially important. We also need extra help during the busy Christmas season. Convenient Location: The store is just a 10-minute walk from the Glenmont Metro Station on the Red Line.
