Job summary

The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting for one part-time, temporary snowplow driver in Wolf Point with heavy equipment operation experience for winter road maintenance. This includes snow removal, cleaning the right of way, fixing guardrail, repairing fences, signs, and luminaires, traffic control and salt brine production.

Must be available for emergency weather conditions and be able to work on weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold Montana Commercial Operators License (Class A, Type II) with no restrictions.
• Tank endorsement and MEC (Medical Examiner's Certificate) required.
• Seasonal, part-time snowplow driver with heavy equipment experience.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays and in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow and perform highway maintenance tasks for winter road upkeep.
• Clear right of way, repair guardrails, signs and luminaires as needed.
• Assist with traffic control and salt brine production activities.
• Possess flexibility to work seasonally and travel within 45 road miles of Wolf Point.
