Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation seeks temporary Snowplow Driver / Highway Maintenance Tech to support Butte area operations during winter. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, snow removal, and maintenance of right of way, with weekend/holiday work as needed.

Position may be part of a ladder with career advancement. The role requires CDL Class A with tank endorsement, MEC, and ability to work under extreme weather conditions.

Qualifications

• One year of experience driving heavy trucks or operating construction equipment.
• Valid Montana CDL Class A, Type II with tank endorsement and MEC.
• Learner's permit holders have 30 days to obtain the necessary license.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow and perform winter road maintenance.
• Clear snow and remove debris from rights of way.
• Repair guardrails, signs and luminaires, and assist with traffic control.
