Job summary

Borealis Basecamp is hiring a Snowmobile & UTV Guide in Fairbanks. You will lead guided tours, instruct guests on safety, and ensure a memorable wilderness experience throughout fall and winter.

The role demands operating snowmachines/UTVs in varied Arctic conditions, strong guest service, and the ability to work outdoors for long periods. Seasonal full‑time with potential housing options.

Qualifications

• Experience operating snowmachines (snowmobiles) and/or UTVs.
• Ability to operate both vehicle types in varying seasonal conditions.
• Wilderness First Responder certification may be obtained via company training.
• Strong situational awareness and decision‑making ability.
• Ability to work outdoors in Arctic conditions for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead guided tours safely using snowmobiles and UTVs.
• Instruct guests on proper operation and safety procedures for both snowmobiles and UTVs.
• Conduct pre-tour safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
• Monitor terrain, weather, and guest ability to modify tours as needed.
• Respond to incidents and administer wilderness first aid when necessary.
• Track and manage inventory of fuel and consumable supplies.
• Provide engaging narration about local wildlife, landscape, and Alaska history.
• Answer guest questions and ensure a positive experience.
