Job summary
Winter Park Resort in Colorado is seeking a part-time Snowboard Coach to mentor athletes in the Competition Center and help them advance in advanced snowboarding techniques and competitions. The role requires adherence to all resort policies, safety standards, and health codes, and collaboration with Head Coaches and the Program Director.
Required: HS diploma or GED, plus one season in USASA/US Ski & Snowboard or equivalent, Level 100 coach clinic within the first year; snowboard tuning
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one season in USASA/US Ski & Snowboard or equivalent; or one year of instructor experience.
- Level 100 coach clinic within first year of employment.
- Experience in snowboard tuning, boot modification desirable.
- Understanding of USASA/US Ski & Snowboard and FIS rules or ability to learn quickly.
Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise daily training for competitors as scheduled by the Head Coaches and Program Director.
- Set and maintain courses following USASA/US Ski & Snowboard/FIS specifications.
- Ensure safety standards are met in all training environments.
- Provide video analysis sessions with participants on a regular basis.
- Conduct goal-setting meetings and support on-hill coaching duties.
- Travel to pre-determined events with participants.
